The alarm goes beep beep, has 2 levels of loudness. The snooze is also a display brightness changer, 3 different settings, but does stay illuminated to some degree, not total darkness. This plugs into AC power with an adapter cord on the back. There is a AA battery (not included) that you can put into it , that gives you back up power to keep it running if the power goes out, and you rest assured that the clock will alarm at the right time. The digital number are white, not that awful green or blue color.. Great to put in a place where you want to be able to see the time from a distance without having to walk up and push a button. There is also the snooze, but make sure to turn alarm off, or it will continue to beep onward. Makes a great travel clock in hotel rooms. About 5 inches x 3.5 inches, so fits in your hand, lightweight.

This is a very little alarm clock! The little clock that can! It's got two options of noise level, and I think both are great for people who live with other people and especially a spouse. The lower volume alarm is enough to wake someone up but not scare them back to life. The sound is a "dull" sound, not shrill or "sharp" if that makes any sense. You can hit snooze an unlimited amount of times, but to set the alarm you have to choose which alarm noise setting you want it to be on. To turn off the alarm, you have to slide the alarm setting to "OFF".This clock is very easy to program and use! It's lightweight. The buttons feel pleasant and the display would be easy to read during the day or at night. There are 3 settings for the display brightness and it's easy to use. It has a battery backup but isn't meant to run on that battery alone. It has a USB-C port for power in and a USB-C port for power out (to charge a phone or other small appliance). It's a great thing to have when you're traveling or as a backup for during power outages.A wonderful little clock that does everything you need it to and only a few extra things. Charmingly simple and easy to use. An excellent reminder that you don't need all the fancy things to make a good clock - just have it work correctly and consistently. And this little guy does!

This digital clock is absolutely just what I wanted to take on trips. It's compact, lightweight, easy to set, has an alarm mode (high and low sound audio settings), dimmable, and is electric with a back-up battery. This clock must be plugged in to operate (it is not a "chargeable" unit). The charging cord, which comes with the clock, has USB-A and USB-C connectors, so you need either a USB outlet or a plug adaptor. Many hotels now have USB charging ports, so this clock will easily operate (plus I bring a small power block with folding prongs). My photo shows the USB cord plugged into my power adaptor at home which is then plugged into an electric socket. The characters are clear and white (although they show as blue in my photo); the clock face is easily dimmed by pressing the "Snooze/Dimming" button to choose your preferred level of illumination. It's a good value for the money. Westclox (now part of NYL Holdings) is a quality brand. I hope this review helps you.

It's tiny which was a surprise and fit in the palm of my son's hand. But, it's bright so he can easily see it at night which was what he wanted.

I like a dark bedroom at night with very little light. I needed a new alarm clock for my bedroom, so I got this one because it has all the functions you need in an alarm clock, especially a backup battery. The alarm worked well, and it was very easy to use. Actually, all the functions worked just as my old clock did. The numbers are very large and easy to read. The reason I got this clock is because it has a dimming function that has three levels of brightness. The reason I gave it four stars is because on the lowest setting, it still lite up the whole bedroom, and I couldn't deal with that. If anyone needs a good clock and don't mind the light level, this is a good value. I really like this clock but wish it wasn't so bright. I put it in a bedroom that isn't occupied.
