I really like that it can be plugged in and will serve as a night light because the back light stays lit. However, if you use batteries, the back light goes out so it functions as a clock. It has an alarm, date, temp, and even the day of the week. I highly recommend this little gem.

I got this because I liked the look. Seriously, there are so many ways to be woken these days: cell phone, Alexa, Google, smartwatch, radio, etc. but having something dedicated to one task that does it right is quite unique.My grandmother had a mechanical Westclox Baby Ben and this is about the same size as it was. Its all-white color makes it stand out from the brown top of a bedstand. The time numbers are large enough to be seen from across the room. In addition to the time, there is other information displayed: temperature, day of the week, month, and date. Also, the backlight can be left on all the time, if the included cable is used with a wall-wart you supply. You can also keep it off and use the light by pressing the light button on the top of the clock. You can also use 2 AAA batteries exclusively or as a backup should a power failure occur, but the light will always turn off to conserve your batteries.All controls are very intuitive, you hardly have to read the instructions, but if you need to read, you'll only have to do it once. Best of all, the easily understandable instructions are printed in a font that's large enough to see. Setting the time and alarm is a snap and easily done in under 2 minutes. You can choose either a high or low-volume alarm. And if you want to snooze, you get 5 minutes for each time you hit snooze.The only thing I'd like to have with this alarm clock is a very dim setting to see the time at night without having to hit the light button and turn on a bright light for the time.All in all, though, this is a great alarm clock, updated for the 21st century.

Handy little clock. The directions were simple, programming it was a breeze and very intuitive, the directions are very concise and clear, and the buttons are easy to manipulate. When setting up the clock, you only have to choose the year, month, and date and the clock knows what day matches that date. There are also both "+" and "-" buttons so no need to scroll through an entire year or an entire 60 minutes etc if you accidentally go too fast and overshoot your number!It is a bit hard to see the numbers if the backlight is not on - ideal if it is your bedroom alarm clock. The backlight can be turned on with just a press of the large button at the top of the clock. It stays on for 8 seconds and then goes out. You can (if the clock is plugged in as opposed to only running on the batteries) set the backlight to be on all the time. If you are running it on batteries only, then you cannot set the backlight to be on all of the time (understandable as it will drain the batteries quickly).Note that neither the power plug nor the batteries are included with this clock.I intended this little clock to be used for my office desk and was hoping to run it only on the batteries (no free outlet for the plug) but not being able to see the face of the clock without the backlight makes it not such a good idea. I will be swapping out my bedside alarm clock (way too bright for sleeping ) with this little clock. I think it's a brilliant compromise and each clock is perfectly suited for it's new home!

I love this little clock light for the counter in my kitchen. It was super easy to set up and works great. I wanted a light with the date so I could put the correct date on my packaged food for the fridge/freezer. I'm occasionally curious about the temperature, and this little light has it all -- it even serves as an alarm clock with a snooze (that I don't use in the kitchen). I like that you can see the time, date, and temperature in a bright kitchen. But you can press the button on the top to activate the backlight. (It can be set to always have the backlight on, but I don't need it on during the daytime, and I don't want it using too much of the batteries). The clock comes with a cord to plug it into a USB outlet, but I use it on battery so I don't have another cord hanging around in the kitchen. Depending on your use, you may prefer using the cord than the batteries. This is a perfect little light clock; I can strongly recommend it. I live in Arizona where we don't observe Daylight Saving Time so the only ongoing maintenance I have is to wipe dust off the clock and change the batteries. It's very easy to set the time, so it would still be perfect in those states and countries where time changes twice a year.
